Improving your WIFI network

Occasionally, we are disappointed when the WiFi signal in our house or place of business isn’t strong enough to cover the entire space. To strengthen the WiFi signal, we then use devices like range extenders, WiFi repeaters, and signal boosters. Even though these gadgets help to strengthen the signal, they are not always a perfect fix, and the signal may still be inconsistent.

The easiest way to increase the strength of your WiFi signal across your house or place of business is to hardwire a data cable between the routers or repeaters rather than depending only on a wireless connection. Wireless is handy, but it’s unreliable.

Routers broadcast a signal across a predetermined coverage area. The frequency range used, any physical obstacles in the road, the router’s output power, and the number of concurrent users all affect how far this coverage is.

Make sure your home’s internet is operating at peak efficiency. To find out if the speed quality is appropriate for what your ISP is offering and if the line speed can accommodate more users, connect your computer straight to your router using an Ethernet cable and perform a speed test.
